Mustangs, Mustangs, Mustangs

They come in coupes and convertibles.  Bryan loves them all.  His Mustang will have seven pipes and go 160,500 miles an hour.

My Favorite Subject

Every so often Bryan will relax and enjoy having his picture taken.  This shot was taken after he and I sat at the kitchen table playing with his Matchbox cars... most of which were my old classics.  What's mine is his.  He shares as well.

Don't Sell This Autograph On Ebay...

This image was taken this past week at The Players Championship, in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fl.  I thought that it would be fun to spend time at the tournament capturing the spirit of the many people following the golfers-instead of focusing on the golfers.  Some of my images were published in the Ponte Vedra Recorder, our local newspaper and more will be published in this week's edition.

Still My Buddy

Bryan continues to be my favorite subject. He came with me to Springing the Blues as my assistant....

Expressions and Lighting

I just loved seeing the warmth and clarity of these shots taken at Nosh and Listen here in Jacksonville. My favorite shot is of the girl concentrating... Photographing events for the joy of the event is surely different from the photography I've done for so many years that enabled me to earn my living.

Great Technology.....

I've been preaching for years how much control I have over my shots by using the manual modes of my camera and electronic. While shooting Springing The Blues here in Jax Beach, I put the camera to "program" mode, first setting the iso to a semi-respectable 1600. The results really surprised me. It was really fun shooting the performers with my 70-200mm lens and the 5D on auto pilot. All I had to do was hold the camera still and compose the shots. Very cool... but program mode does not work in an indoor venue where multiple electronic flashes are required.

Just For Fun

It's getting easier to hand hold the heavy lens....

Fun Photography

After I retired from the Teacher Center nearlyt two years ago, I went to Adorama Camera on 18th St. in Manhattan and bought myself a bunch of really good/cool camera stuff. I bought two Canon 5D mk II's with 35-105mm lenses-my bread and butter lens when working. I splurged and bought a Canon 70-200 f.2.8 lens with image stabilization-a lens really too heavy to comfortably hand hold at a wedding or Bar/Bar Mitzvah. However, I have been using it on a tripod for portraits-also something I'm not used to doing.

Now that we're here in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fl and I'm volunteering my photography for the Jewish Jacksonville News and the Ponte Vedra Recorder and enjoying seeing my work in local publications, I decided to use the 70-200mm and strengthen my hand held shooting skills with it. I've got to admit that I'm enjoying the experience and glad that I weight train at the gym five days a week....
Seeing the image of Bryan as a cover shot for the Ponte Vedra Recorder was a great thrill. Since moving down to PVB, I started networking by donating my services to the Jewish Jacksonville News and the Ponte Vedra Recorder. More images to come
